GENERAL QUESTIONS
How many people are going ? last year, Gold Coast Swingfest 2008 attracted 260 couples (520 people), this made it by far the largest couples only party that Queensland had ever seen. Over the 2 nights of parties, we had over 750 people attend (including the Friday foreplay party). The main venue this year can hold 400 couples, and all we can say is thats the LIMIT of people who can attend. We are confident based on feedback from last year, that the event will be well attended again.
What age groups are going ?
We’ve invited everyone in the couples swinging scene from anywhere in the World. Generally from our own experience at parties of this scale, is that you will have couples from mid 20’s through to late 50’s, with the bulk of the people attending as mid-30’s. We do not restrict attendance based on age, race, social standing. We just ask that you be a swinging couple in the Lifestyle.
Why only couples ? Can any singles attend ?
Overwhelming response to our research has shown a need for an all Male/Female swinging couples party in Australia. Therefore, tickets can only be purchased under the terms you agree to attend as one male and one female partnership. We will not allow single males, single females or couples of men or women in the door. Security has been given strict instructions on this matter. The only singles you will see at the event will be staff, Security or entertainers.
Can we smoke (cigarettes) ?
WOW.. we were amazed how many times we were asked this. The venue has the largest outdoor smoking area, and smokers are more than welcome to come and party with us. The balcony last year was full of party goers, and it will not close early, its open all night. There is no smoking indoors or near eating areas. It will be nice to go to a party where you don’t have to go onto the street to smoke !
What Music will be playing ?
Our DJ is very experienced at reading the crowd. He also know that there will be varying age groups attending. There is plenty of room at the venue, now we have 2 levels, to escape the loud music and flirt and chat, but the dance area is big enough to accommodate everyone when the music revs up and we all want to get hot on the dancefloor. Based on feedback from 2008, we will be having more 80's and 90's music, especially early in the evening
Are you going to have ‘entertainment’ ?
ABSOLUTELY ! Swingfest is about Fun and Flirting and 'the shows'. There will be plenty to keep your eyes on during the night. Have a look at the EVENTS page for up to date details on whats happening.
Can we get a passout to leave and then come back into the venue ?
Absolutely. As the party venue is very close to the accommodation, and we know that some couples may want to head to their rooms, and then come back in, we will be issuing passouts to couples only. Please make sure you BOTH leave the venue and return at the same time. Security will only let couples leave and enter. This is to ensure the integrity of this couples only event.
Are cameras allowed in the venue ?
The only camera allowed to be used in the venue is the one by the official photographer. This includes camera phones. We still don’t know why you would have your phone with you at our event anyway. You’ll be having far too good a time to worry about your phone. All phones and cameras should be checked into the cloakroom. People seen using cameras or camera phones will be asked to leave the party immediately by the big burly security guards…
Speaking of which… Will there be security ?
Yes.. and just enough to make sure we all have a good time without it being a Police State. The security team are well aware of what kind of party it is.
SEX AND NUDITY QUESTIONS
Is there sex at the party on the Saturday?
The party on Saturday night is what we term a NSOP party……. That’s ‘No Sex On Premises’ for the uninitiated. Lets face it, it’s a lot hotter to keep a few clothes on and play up and flirt all night long on the dancefloor, or in a dark corner. When you have this many people, masses of people shagging everywhere can become a turnoff to anyone except those doing the deed !
If you wish to play at a venue, then make sure you attend the 'foreplay' party on the Friday at either Utopia or the Passion Party.
We have done the hardwork for you, and held the party right next to a bunch of hotels ! If the need is there, go back to your room, but grab a passout first, as you may want to come back down and keep partying !
Please don’t get caught in any sexual situations, the security guys have been instructed by the venue owner to eject anyone who does.
What about Nudity ?
Dress to tease and please ! Due to licensing laws in QLD, and the classy theme of the evening, please do not 'fully nude up' in the venue. You will be kicked out by the security team if you do.
DRESS CODE QUESTIONS
What to wear ?
You will NOT be allowed into the venue wearing normal street clothes, it's not fair on the majority who really try to impress. Please see our‘What to Wear’ page for ideas.
Will there be a cloakroom ?In 2009 the cloak room facilities will be free and included in your ticket price. There is a large change room downstairs for people who do not want to walk to the venue in 'theme'. Please note that once you have checked your bags into the cloakroom, you will only have access to the checked bags when you leave the party. Please make sure all essentials like lipstick, money etc are carried by you into the party. Please also consider a smile for our overworked cloakroom staff.
The terms and conditions on which you buy your ticket state that you will be wearing WILD WEST or BURLESQUE clothing.
Come on, get into the ‘swing’ of things and let your hair down. We promise you’ll have a great time for little effort ! It’s really not that hard!
